The Human Performance Laboratory provides the campus and local community with the benefits of state-of–the-art research testing facilities for the purpose of health, fitness, and performance testing.

The Human Performance Laboratory (HPL), located in East Hall room 102, is part of the Department of Natural Science. Equipment in the HPL has the capability of performing a variety of cardiopulmonary, metabolic, anthropometric, and strength assessments to facilitate education and research. Testing in the HPL can provide an important avenue for community service in exercise science and wellness that includes health promotion, disease prevention, optimal performance, and injury prevention.


Our Mission

1.    Deliver the best quality fitness, health, and performance testing to valued members of the LMU community and  
       surrounding neighbors.

2.    Operate with the highest standards for health and safety for all clients.
 
3.    Perform all duties in coordination with the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and 
       Conditioning Association, and the National Athletic Trainer’s Association standards of professionalism and conduct.  
4.    Promote education of our students by providing hands-on experience in health, fitness, and performance testing.

5.    Uphold University traditions, including the encouragement of learning, education of the whole person, service of
       faith, and promotion of justice.
