LMU Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Program Application

Application Process:
2018-2019 LMU Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Program.
The application consists of both an online and a mail-in component. The online application and all mail-in components must be received by the application deadline.

The application is now closed as the deadline was February 14, 2018. 

Applications are accepted annually November - February. The deadline for the 2018-19 application cycle was February 14, 2018. The 2019-2020 application will be available in October 2018. Interviews will be done on a rolling basis beginning in November/December once a completed application packet has been received and evaluated. We have a rolling admissions process once an interview commences if accepted. Accepted students must confirm in writing via email and pay a nominal, non-refundable fee to hold their spot to be able to register for the summer and/or fall term. The fee will be applied only to the student's fall tuition. The 14 month program starts in the summer term (special exceptions for Fall start depending on qualifications).

Applicants will need to complete the online application in one online session. You will need to have electronic copies of your personal statement and resume ready before proceeding.

The application is designed to be completed in one sitting, so if you choose to start the application then return on a later date, you'll need to email postbac@lmu.edu for a "personal link" that will allow you to return to your application.

The 2019-20 online application will open in October 2018; below is the information the online application will comprise.

  • Questionnaire
    Be prepared to provide the requested information pertaining to your personal information and educational history. You will be asked to provide detailed information about institutions attended and courses taken. You should have this information handy before beginning your application.
  • Personal Statement
    Be prepared to attach an essay (generally 2 pages, double spaced) addressing why you want to attend medical and/or dental school and how the LMU Post Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program can assist you in becoming a competitive applicant.
  • Resume
    Be prepared to attach your current resume, highlighting your health care experience, community service, research and education.

We prefer the materials listed below should be mailed compiled in one packet, but can be sent separately to the address indicated below. However, transcripts and letters of recommendation can also be submitted electronically. All documents need to be received or post-marked by the deadline.

  • Transcripts (all)
    Include official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.  Unofficial transcripts are not acceptable. Official transcripts can be sent either via mail or electronically, but if sent electronically it must be sent from the university to the postbac@lmu.edu email.
  • Letters of Recommendation (1-3)
    Include three letters of recommendation (one of the letters must be from a professor). The letters must be on letterhead, signed and sealed. We highly recommend three letters but only require one. We prefer letters of recommendation to be mailed in, but we will accept them sent via email only from the recommender. 
  • Application Fee ($60)
    The application fee is $60. Credit card payments are not accepted. Payments must be received in the form of a check or money order payable to LMU Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program.
