Curriculum Development Process

Curriculum Development Process Regarding the Appropriate Statistics Content in K-12 Education

Project Description:

The Joint Committee of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the National Council of Mathematics Teachers (NCTM) has summoned the publication of a book that supports secondary teachers and teacher educators on the appropriate statistics content in K-12 education. This book is slated to be published in early 2018. This project will actively engage students in the curriculum development process that will ultimately result in the book. Students involved in this project will be mentioned in the acknowledgements of the book. In addition, students will be exposed to all developments related to statistics education in K-12. Students will call into the Joint Committee meetings twice a year and meet leading statistics educators from across the US. Not only will students greatly help Dr. Bargagliotti by providing feedback on the lesson plan development but they will, in turn, also gain an enormous amount of experience related to statistics.
