Students in LMU's Environmental Science major work to understand how society's intense use of resources and waste management practices have resulted in a variety of environmental concerns on both the local and global scales. Through multidisciplinary science, majors learn to understand the causes and ramifications of environmental disturbances, then determine ways to eliminate or reduce them. Undergraduate students engage in a program of rigorous coursework covering the basic sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Graduate students take relevant Environmental Science courses and often take elective courses in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in environmental engineering and water resources.
