International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

LMU has enjoyed a long positive collaboration with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) professional society. Over the years, this association has expanded from:

  • encouraging INCOSE student membership,
  • developing an INCOSE LMU Student Division (club)
  • holding Associate Engineering Professional certification exams at LMU
  • LMUs admittance to the INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board (CAB)
  • LMU has been admitted to INCOSE's Academic Equivalency Program (AEP)

This special AEP status allows LMU students who meet educational proficiency requirements and hold INCOSE membership to bypass the ASEP certification knowledge exam while applying for ASEP and CSEP professional certification status.

Courtney Wright, INCOSE Certification Program Manager, said, “Universities adopting Academic Equivalency show commitment to offering their students from diverse engineering programs a systems engineering education aligned with the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook. The program at Loyola Marymount University will bring the most current good practices of systems engineering to their students and will introduce those students to continued professional development through INCOSE.”
