Compact Antenna Array for Direction of Arrival Estimation

Project Description:

The ultimate goal is to design and implement an antenna array that can fit in a tight space and receive signals from a transponder to estimate its angular direction with respect to the receiver. Such a system can be deployed to facilitate the search of a tagged target.

Advisor: Jie Xu, jxu@lmu.edu
Project Duration: 1 Year

Student Duties:

The student will be responsible  for research on printed antennas and direction of arrival estimation algorithms. They will then design an antenna array and implement the algorithm.

Student Background Required:

The student should have knowledge of undergraduate electromagnetics. Good math and Matlab skills. Self -motivation is highly desirable.
