Courtney serves as the Director of Health Professions Advising in the Seaver College of Science and Engineering’s Center for Student Success. She supports a range of advising services for students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare fields.
Prior to LMU, Courtney spent over 15 years at UCLA, most recently at the David Geffen School of Medicine as the Career Development Coordinator for the fourth year colleges program. Her main role was to oversee operations for intensive career development training programs that prepared medical students for sub-internships and residency. She also worked in the Fielding School of Public Health, where she managed two capstone MPH internship programs in the departments of Environmental Health Sciences and Epidemiology. In that role, she coached students on preparing for health related careers, including advising on applications to doctoral programs and medical school. Prior to Public Health she served as an academic advisor in various units across UCLA, including the department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology.
Courtney has a master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling from California State University, Northridge, and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
