The support I gained from LMU’s community has helped me grow into a confident yet modest person. As an international student, I did not know anyone when I first came to LMU. Fear of cultural differences, I was reluctant to speak up and tend to take the back-seat role in most situations. As time passed by, the diversity in LMU’s community broadened my perspectives towards the world. I learned to connect with people from different backgrounds and view the world from different lenses. LMU has taught me that each human being is special in their own way and that we should learn to embrace our strengths and flaws. I am so grateful that LMU has offered a safe space for me to express myself without feeling confined. Never have I imagined that I have grown into a free-minded and independent thinker.
