Interdisciplinary Project Seed Grants

Seaver College’s strategic plan states, “Solutions to a better future for our planet require integrated creativity and innovation rooted in STEM in partnership with other disciplines.” The college’s Interdisciplinary Project Seed Grants bolster efforts to develop new interdisciplinary opportunities to address societal challenges. The grants provide funding and student researcher support for interdisciplinary teams to explore projects of societal importance.

Interdisciplinary Research Symposium

Two interdisciplinary teams of researchers will present their projects:

  • “Modeling the Disparate Impact of Epidemics on Disadvantaged Populations,” Principal Investigator: Ben Fitzpatrick, professor of mathematics
  • “AI-based Food Recommendations for Improved Diet Quality and Intuitive Eating,” Principal Investigator: Mandy Korpusik, assistant professor of computer science
