"I came to Loyola in 1970 from a local junior college. I had previously called the department and was invited by Thomas Pitts, PhD into his office and he was really nice and informative and seemed to care about my aspirations (medical school). I left his office, discarded my application to UCLA and entered Loyola University in the Fall. He was my teacher in Parasitology and other courses. I admired him and I know the short interval he was so kind and concerned directed me to Loyola and a resultant cascade of personal and academic accomplishments that followed."
