
Marga Joaquin is a healthcare leader dedicated to integrating business operations and systems engineering principles to advance data-driven processes in complex healthcare systems. Holding advanced degrees in medicine, health administration and healthcare systems engineering (LMU MSHSE ’21), she brings a rare combination of clinical insight, executive management, and technical expertise to healthcare transformation.
Currently as Director of Group Operations at PIH Health Physicians, Marga oversees multiple specialty and surgical care clinics while leading a team of Ambulatory Workflow Analysts in applying lean healthcare principles and systems engineering tools in streamlining workflows and developing scalable operations across service lines.
Outside of the healthcare industry, Marga co-founded Species Tracks, a biotech start-up company providing DNA-based species monitoring solutions in 2023 where she serves as a consultant on tech innovation and environmental sustainability projects, applying systems thinking and systems engineering principles at all levels. She has previously served as adjunct faculty at CalState LA and LMU, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Human Anatomy/Physiology, Clinical Pathology and Comparative Health Care Systems. She excited for the opportunity to once again work with students as an IPL.
