"The Power of Stem Cells: Modeling Disease, Building Careers"

Using her lab’s stem cell modeling of Trisomy 21 as a case study, Dr. Al Alam will show how her lab harnesses the power of stem cells to model human disease, using their work on Trisomy 21 as a case study. She’ll also highlight the hands-on training in stem cell culture, differentiation and gene editing available through the CIRM Shared Resources Lab (SPRINT core), and how that experience opens doors to careers across the health sciences.
