Seaver Spotlight with Dr. Deepak Srivastava
"Hacking the Genetic Code to Treat Human Disease"
Deepak Srivastava, M.D., president of the nonprofit Gladstone Institutes, leads an elite biomedical research organization focused on heart, brain, viral and immunologic diseases, leveraging cutting edge technologies and data science to overcome some of humankind’s most devastating conditions. He will discuss some of the transformative work conducted at Gladstone and share some of his life experiences.
Srivastava also serves as director of the Roddenberry Stem Cell Center at Gladstone and is an attending pediatric cardiologist in UCSF’s Benioff Children’s Hospital. He has identified several genetic causes of human heart disease and developed novel approaches for heart regeneration. He also co-founded several biotechnology companies to advance discoveries into clinical trials.
Seaver Spotlight is the college’s signature speaker series featuring leaders who share their experiences and career pathway as they seek to live a life of meaning and purpose.
